Wittenberg’s ASCENT-STEM grant, funded by the NSF’s Robert Noyce Teacher Scholarship Program, provides generous funding to support students who are interested in teaching secondary STEM subjects in high-needs schools. The main goal of this program is to support and cultivate strong STEM teaching in the Springfield Community by recruiting and retaining high-quality STEM teachers.
Criteria and Expectations: The Robert Noyce Teacher Scholarship is available for students with junior and senior standing in Fall 2025. Awards are selective based on demonstration of excellent academic achievement and desire to pursue high-school teaching in high-need schools. This award is intended for students majoring in Biology, Chemistry, Mathematics, or Physics, and minoring in Education. Amount: Approximately $20,000 per year, for college junior and seniors only. Students are encouraged to apply during the summer of their sophomore year. Actual award amounts may vary. There may be an opportunity for an additional stipend during the first years of teaching.
Deadline: Students must apply by July 15, 2025
